INDIANAPOLIS (April 19, 2012) – Angie’s List announced today that it has opened a Palo Alto, Calif., office.
The new team members will work with their Indianapolis counterparts to advance the company’s strategic initiatives, which include e-commerce, transaction enabling tools and mobile applications.
“We uncovered an opportunity to hire an intact, experienced development team. This was fortuitous given our many product and service development initiatives," said Bill Oesterle, CEO of Angie’s List, which provides consumer reviews on local contractors and service companies. "We expect to add additional capacity in both offices this year."
The initial California team includes senior developers who have highly relevant experience delivering consumer web solutions. Both the Indiana and California development teams are led by Angie’s List Chief Technology Officer, Manu Thapar.
Thapar joined Angie’s List in October 2011. He served in similar senior technology roles at Walmart.com, Yahoo! and MySpace. Under his leadership, Angie’s List has made a number of site improvements including improved search relevance, and expanded commerce tools.
“Bringing on an experienced team will allow them to hit the ground running,” Thapar said. “We are looking forward to their quick contribution to our strategic initiatives.”
